Philadelphia Universal Pre-K Commission Gets to Work
After a successful ballot measure passed to form a universal pre-k comission (with more positive votes than any ballot question in Philadelphia history), the newly appointed commssion members got to work on the last day in June.
The commission is led by two co-chairs -- DVAEYC Executive Director Sharon Easterling and Drexel University Vice President for Health and Health Equity Loretta Sweet Jemmott.
The 17-member commission is charged with developing a plan to implement and fully fund unviversal pre-k in Phialdelphia. Their plan is due to the Mayor and City Council by April 2016.
For more information, please see coverage of the commission's first meeting on CBS Philly.
