Amazing Things are Happening
DVAEYC is your touchstone for year-round early childhood education events in the Delaware Valley. From professional development programs, to important public policy issues, to upcoming speakers and exciting educational events.
Whether you are a brand-new early childhood education professional or you’ve been in the field for 30 years, there is something at this conference for you! Join us to explore The Wonder of Words on March 10th and 11th, 2017 at the University of Pennsylvania and discover for yourself that literacy means more than simply reading and writing.
Research shows that strong literacy and language development skills have a huge impact on the future success of the children we serve. At the DVAEYC Annual Conference you will hear from nationally known experts and leaders in early literacy, and find out about what resources are right here in your community to support this important topic and new ways to harness the power of those skills in your classroom.
More information will be posted here in the coming months, but SIGN UP today and you will get all DVAEYC Conference updates right in your inbox! Can’t wait to see you in March!

Champions for Young Children
Since 1994, DVAEYC celebrates individuals outside the field of Early Childhood Education who show a deep commitment to championing high quality early education for all children in Southeastern Pennsylvania. We take one night each year to honor a new Champion at a cocktail reception featuring a music, fun, a silent auction, and more! SIGN UP for our newsletter and FOLLOW US on social media to stay up to date on information about our next Champions for Young Children event.
Each spring, parents, caregivers, providers, and advocates from across Pennsylvania travel to Harrisburg to visit legislators and talk with them about the importance of quality early childhood care and education. Quality early learning and child development open the doors of opportunity for every child to do well in school, in the workforce, and in life! But quality early learning requires the commitment of families, teachers, and the community in order for children to reach their promise. SIGN UP HERE to get up to date information about our next Action Day event.
Week of the Young Child
Week of the Young Child (WOYC) is a national celebration. It is a time to recognize the importance of early learning and early literacy. And a time to celebrate the teachers and policies that help open the doors to early childhood education for every young children.
Each year we Week of the Young Child is our opportunity to reach out to everyone in the Delaware Valley and ask them to make the time to recognize the needs of young children, and thank the many adults involved in their education and care — from parents to teachers to caregivers who play such important roles in the lives of young children.
We encourage early childhood programs and organizations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania to plan noteworthy WOYC events. These events are designed to bring each respective community together to promote early literacy and learning, recognize early childhood teachers in each community, and influence public policy makers locally, state-wide and nationally to make early childhood education the best it can be.
This year, Week of the Young Child is April 24-28, 2017. Check out these resources to find out more about how you can participate.
