Pennsylvania can’t have high quality early childhood education if early childhood professionals are not well-trained or well-paid. It’s that simple.

QUEST is the public policy voice of PennAEYC, a network of early childhood practitioners across the state with membership in the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our goal is to ensure that every child in Pennsylvania has access to high quality early childhood education programs, and that dedicated practitioners can afford to stay in the field.

The truth is, child care providers may be the poorest paid group of professionals in the nation. There is a vast pool of early childhood professionals who work tirelessly, are grossly underpaid, and put their own needs aside to care for our young children.

QUEST works to mobilize our precious early childhood professionals to advocate for themselves, as key elements in quality early education that is critical to the welfare of our society.

QUEST is Dedicated To:

  • Early childhood professionals who lay the foundation that sets our youngest children on a course of lifelong learning and who need to be recognized and compensated for the professionals that they are.
  • Parents of young children who need and want strong, lasting partnerships with early childhood professionals.
  • Young children who lose their teachers to high turnover, who wait and wait to get into subsidized child care, and whose parents may not understand the importance of the earliest years or can’t find a quality program.
